PSV Eindhoven survived a red card and will head to the Vicente Calderon with every chance of besting Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League’s Round of 16.

Jeroen Zoet made a number of key saves and Atleti could not take advantage of Gaston Pereiro’s second-half red card in a 0-0 first leg at the Philips Stadion on Tuesday.

Uruguayan attacker Pereiro took his second yellow card in the 58th minute after a collision with Diego Godin, as PSV was down to 10 men.

Atleti buzzed, but couldn’t sting, as Zoet continued his fine play and PSV even pushed for a winner.
