It had to be Dimitri Payet, didn’t it?

The star of West Ham’s season nutmegged Joel Robles in the first minute of stoppage time to complete the comeback that Michail Antonio and Diafra Sakho started, as the Irons beat Everton 3-2 at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Romelu Lukaku and Aaron Lennon staked Everton to the lead, though a Kevin Mirallas red card sat in the middle to make it anything but safe. Lukaku would later miss a penalty.

West Ham rises to fifth, two points ahead of idle Manchester United, while Everton sits 11th.

Adrian was caught out-of-position by Lukaku’s run, as Kevin Mirallas slipped the Belgium through three West Ham defenders. Lukaku bounced his shot past the splayed keeper, and it was 1-0.

Mirallas turned his assisting credit into a trip to the doghouse with a second yellow card in the 34th minute, condemning Everton to 10 men for almost an hour.

The Toffees doubled their lead despite the disadvantage, as Lennon cut through a mess of West Ham defenders to pass a shot behind Adrian. Game?

If it wasn’t over then, it could’ve been when John Stones won a penalty with 23 minutes to play. Yet Adrian stopped Lukaku’s poor effort.

The desperation meant we were deprived of another memorable Antonio celebration when West Ham pulled one back late. Would the missed pen come back to haunt Everton?

Yep! Sakho headed Dimitri Payet’s cross past Joel Robles, and it was level with plenty of time on the clock.
