The first big save was Kevin Trapp on Diego Costa, and Chelsea’s initial stop was not from Thibaut Courtois but Branislav Ivanovic. The Serbian defender cleared Lucas’ shot, which has evaded Chelsea’s keeper.
Soon after, PSG went up 1-0 (3-1 on aggregate). Angel Di Maria slipped in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who took advantage of a hesitant Gary Cahill. Zlatan passed across the six and Rabiot’s slide was better than Ivanovic’s.

PSG enjoyed the ball in the early stages of the second half, and lost Diego Costa to injury in the 60th minute. Bertrand Traore replaced the goal scorer.
Chelsea began to find a bit of pressure in the 64th minute, and Trapp made a diving two-hand stop on Willian before parrying Hazard’s rebound attempt.
That’s when Zlatan made it academic. The big Swede thumped Di Maria’s cross past Courtois in the 68th minute. Chelsea would need three goals without conceding to win, and wouldn’t score even one more.
