The second leg of Manchester City’s Champions League matchup with Dynamo Kiev got off to a terrible start for the Citizens as captain Vincent Kompany was forced off just six minutes into the match.
Kompany pulled up while running in for a challenge, going down and immediately signaling to the bench for a substitution.

It looked to be a recurrence of a calf problem that has bothered the big Belgian all season long. Kompany missed more than a month with a calf injury before Christmas, only to re-injure himself just minutes into his return on Boxing Day. He then missed a further eight weeks of play.
City lead Dynamo 3-1 on aggregate and should go through, although this injury could be a massive blow to their hopes in the Premier League, especially with the Manchester derby this weekend.
UPDATE: Nicolas Otamendi also went down injured, forcing Manuel Pellegrini to substitute both of his starting center-backs within the opening 25 minutes.
