The men who will hope to push the United States men’s U-23 side into the Summer Olympics have been named by Andi Herzog.
The squad is strong, with full national team members Kellyn Acosta, Matt Miazga and Tim Parker among the capped defenders in U-23 camp. Jordan Morris and Julian Green are in the mix, while Gedion Zelalem is not in the unit.
Despite bizarre speculation that John Brooks or DeAndre Yedlin could be sent to the U-23s to help defeat Colombia, neither was included in training camp.
Christian Pulisic, Rubio Rubin and Cameron Carter-Vickers are also not in the mix. Carter-Vickers is injured.
The first match of the 2016 Olympic Qualifying playoff will take place on Friday, March 25 at Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez in Barranquilla, Colombia, at 4 p.m. local (5 p.m. ET).
The return leg will be played on March 29 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas at 8:30 p.m. CT.
