Alarm bells went off in U.S. Soccer supporter circles when Borussia Dortmund teen star Christian Pulisic was neither called into U-23 or USMNT camp this week.

It turns out the kid is just sick.

Pulisic, 17, was announced as a call-up to the full USMNT on BVB’s site, but is ill and had not been announced by U.S. Soccer.

U.S. Soccer told that while Pulisic will miss Friday’s match in Guatemala City, he could be in the fold for Tuesday’s return leg in Columbus.

Pulisic has made six appearances for Dortmund’s First Team, but had been training again with the U-19s.

Tying him to the U.S. could be a coup for Jurgen Klinsmann, as Pulisic has the potential to represent Croatia as well. He’s scored 20 times in 34 appearances for the U.S. U-17 side.
