Taking a further look at the results released recently, MLS players were asked where the best team in MLS would finish in the Premier League standings.
So, what where the results?
Here’s a look at the four categories the MLS players could vote for and how they voted:
Top 4 – 0 percent
5th to 9th place – 17 percent
10th to 15th place – 50 percent
15th to 20th – 33 percent
Okay, so a third think that the best team in MLS would finish in the bottom five of the Premier League.
Do we agree with that?
The fact that exactly half of the players polled believe that the best MLS club would finish comfortably in midtable is interesting too, as in the past you would get many observers claim that the better teams in MLS are equivalent to the best teams in the English second-tier, the Championship.
Do MLS players undervalue or value the quality of their league too highly?

A few anonymous comments were also released from the survey:
Anonymous MLS player: “Sixth. Guys would play in that league and figure it out. I think guys in this league are a lot better than people give them credit for.”
Anonymous MLS player: “Relegated. The best MLS team would get relegated every year in the Premier League. An MLS All-Star team would fight to [survive] in the bottom half.”
