Barcelona 1-2 Real MadridFULL RECAP

From 1-0 down, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema played hero on Saturday as Real Madrid put to bed Barcelona’s 39-game unbeaten streak (WATCH HIGHLIGHTS). Madrid may have finished the game with 10 men, and had a would-have-been winner scored by Gareth Bale erroneously ruled out, but the Madridistas head back to the Spanish capital with a split of the season series.

Atletico Madrid 5-1 Real Betis

Fernando Torres scored a goal, as he often did once upon a time. Antoine Griezmann joined him on the score sheet (twice), along with Juanfran and Thomas Partey.

The victory sees Atleti close the gap between themselves and Barca to six points at the top of the table, and also served to keep their neighborly rivals a point in the rearview mirror.

Juventus 1-0 Empoli

Juve continue to march their way toward a fifth-straight Serie A title, thanks to Mario Madzukic’s 44th-minute header to top 10th-place Empoli at the Juventus Stadium on Saturday. It was Mandzukic’s seventh goal of the league season after joining from Atleti in the summer.

With the victory, Juve have gone six points clear of second-place Napoli, who play on Sunday. With just seven games left to play, a half-decade of Serie A titles is looking more and more likely.
