Sunderland 0-0 West Bromwich Albion: Baggies batten the hatches, steal point

West Bromwich Albion stole a point from desperate Sunderland in a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Sunderland could’ve used all three points, but only got one in staying in 18th place. The Black Cats are four points behind victorious Norwich.

West Brom is in 11th with 40 points.

Though West Brom had its moments early in attack, the Baggies seemed mostly content to let desperate Sunderland press them.

The Black Cats controlled the match, picking up plenty of deadball opportunities, but could not find a way past Tony Pulis‘ packed-in side.

Fabio Borini was in vibrant form, but couldn’t finish until his late tally was pulled back when he was clearly offside.
