Latest Wilshere incident leaves Arsenal in another tough spot

Jack Wilshere‘s trouble at night clubs is again an issue after reports of an incident with police outside a bar.

The authorities were reportedly quizzing Wilshere on an alleged assault inside a bar, though reports say he maintains he was not involved in said assault.

From The Telegaph’s Jeremy Wilson:

Wilshere has not played the full 90 minutes of a match for Arsenal since September 2014 and had only returned to full training on Friday following eight months out with a stress fracture to his leg.

The fact, then, that he was even out in central London the following night will renew doubts about his professionalism ahead of a potential comeback for the Under-21 team on Friday. Video footage shows Wilshere attempting to hide his face as he is spoken to by police at around 2.15am on a back street of central London on Sunday morning.

It’s too soon to know what happened and didn’t happen, but also a shame that the 24-year-old has been unable to dodge drama. Worth monitoring as his return to the Premier League field comes closer.
