Wood, now with 16 goals this season, ranks third in Germany’s second division, just two goals behind Simon Terodde and Nils Petersen.

In the process, Wood became the U.S. goalscoring record-holder in a single season in Germany.

The 22-year-old has reportedly received interest from several first division German sides as well as Premier League giant Liverpool.

Wood was recently called up and featured in the USMNT’s pair of matches against Guatemala during CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. The U.S. split their games against Los Chapines, losing on the road 2-0 before capturing a 4-0 win in Columbus, Ohio.
