Joel Robles and the Everton defense held firm despite playing a man down for 38 minutes, as the Toffees took a point from Selhurst Park in a 0-0 draw between the two FA Cup semifinalists.
Palace remains in 16th place, now with 38 points, while Everton pulls into 12th with 40.

While the Toffees had most of the possession and danger for about 15-20 minutes, it was Gayle who’s dangerous chance missed the frame again. Still 0-0.

The second half saw both sides looking lively, and Ross Barkley crushed a longer shot off the crossbar four minutes into the frame.
But the game changed in the 52nd minute with McCarthy’s second yellow card. His obstruction of Yannick Bolasie left little choice for anything but a second yellow, and Everton faced 40 minutes down a man.
