The Reds will face a stiff test in the Europa League semifinals, when Jurgen Klopp‘s side takes Villareal of La Liga. In the other fixture, Shakhtar Donetsk has been drawn with another Spanish club, Sevilla.

Of the four teams remaining, Villareal is the only squad that has yet to capture a title in this competition, while Sevilla has been the most successful side. Los Rojiblancos are looking to win their third consecutive Europa League crown.

While Liverpool has three titles of their own to show for their club’s success, their last triumph came in 2001, when it was still called the UEFA Cup.

The semifinal first first legs will take place on April 28, before the sides meet again on May 5.
