How struggling Barcelona still has an edge La Liga’s three-way title fight

Barcelona’s nine-point La Liga lead is gone, and the Blaugranas are no longer contending to repeat at UEFA Champions League winners.

That’s all bad.

But with Atletico and Real Madrid still in the UCL, is Barca still the favorite to win its 24th title? Or will Atletico win its 11th, or Real its 32nd?

Barca is ahead of Atletico on goal differential, even on points with 76. Real has the best goal differential, but has 75 points.

Judging by the fixtures… the answer is Barca should be fine despite its status as losers of four in five matches, and three-straight. They’ll play two less games before the end of the La Liga season — they have the Copa del Rey final after the campaign — and all five of its matches feature bottom-half sides.
