Newcastle United host Manchester City at St James’ Park on Tuesday (Watch live, 2:45 p.m. ET on NBCSN and online via Live Extra) with Rafael Benitez’s men aiming to grab more points in their survival bid.

It won’t be easy for the Magpies against a surging Man City side who dispatched Chelsea 3-0 last weekend and have won all of their last 12 Premier League encounters with Newcastle. In the last six games City has outscored Newcastle 23-1 and won 6-1 earlier this season against Newcastle.

This is Newcastle’s game in hand and they know a win would see them climb out of the bottom three on goal difference, but Sunderland would still have a game in hand.

With Man City reaching the UEFA Champions League semifinals against Real Madrid next week, Manuel Pellegrini has chosen to rotate his squad which will play into Newcastle’s hands.

In team news Newcastle name Ayoze Perez and Papiss Cisse in attack, while City bring in Vincent Kompany.
