Arsenal host West Bromwich Albion on Thursday at the Emirates Stadium (Watch live, 2:45 p.m. ET on NBCSN and online via Live Extra) with Arsene Wenger bracing himself for more fan unrest.

Sitting in fourth place and battling it out with Manchester City, Manchester United and West Ham United for the final two UEFA Champions League spots, Arsenal’s fans are understandably upset that the Gunners’ title hopes have faded dramatically this season.

Wenger will have Per Mertesacker, Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey available for selection following Arsenal’s disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday, however Jack Wilshere is still a few days away from making his first appearance of the season.

West Brom have no new injury worries but are without a win in four games and lost to Watford last weekend with Saido Berhaino having two penalty kicks saved.

What they’re saying…

Wenger on fan criticism: “I want our fans to be happy and when they are not it affects me. Ideally, yes, you want to play in a positive environment. You do not want to play in a negative environment, but if we do we can still perform. ‘We are responsible for the performance of the team and it is true that at the moment it is not a highlight but we have to take a distance with that.”

Pulis on Arsenal: “Arsenal can beat any team in Europe on their day. And I think Arsene has been incredibly unlucky with injuries this season. He has missed big players at important times. Once all those players are fit, he has got a strong enough squad to win this league. He will be disappointed with the inconsistency but all the other clubs will be saying the same thing, apart from Leicester and Tottenham.”

Prediction

Arsenal will be fired up and get back to winning ways. They will have too much for a stubborn West Brom outfit. 3-1 to the Gunners.
