Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has had an unfortunate history of injuries, and that was again displayed over the weekend against Manchester City.
The 25-year-old Englishman exited Sunday’s 2-2 draw against the Citizens with a knee injury, and scans have revealed that Welbeck could miss between three to five months.
Goal is reporting that Welbeck will surely miss this summer’s Euro 2016 competition in France and could even miss the start to the Premier League season in August.
Arsenal is still awaiting confirmation on follow-up tests for Welbeck his prognosis isn’t promising at this point.
This season, Welbeck has notched five goals and two assists in 14 matches across all competitions. The attacker had been a key figure in the team since February, following his return from a separate knee injury.
