Former Premier League midfielder David Ginola was hospitalized in France on Thursday after collapsing during a football match.
Now 49, Ginola fainted while playing in Mandelieu, a beach town in the south of France. He was airlifted to a local hospital before being transferred to the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco for specialized testing.

Early reports out of France claimed Ginola had suffered a heart attack, although those have not been confirmed.
Despite the reports, Ginola sent a tweet while in the hospital, which looks to be a good sign for his health.
Ginola joined Newcastle from Paris Saint-Germain in 1995, his first of four Premier League clubs. Twice included in the PFA Team of the Year, Ginola was also named PL Player of the Year after his campaign for Tottenham in the 1998-99 season. A highly-creative player with great feet, Ginola would make nearly 200 appearances for Newcastle, Spurs, Aston Villa, and Everton.
