Everyone assumes that Manchester United is the likely destination for Zlatan Ibrahimovic next season, but the Swede’s agent may be telling people otherwise.
Speaking with Swedish newspaper Expressen, Mino Raiola — Ibrahimovic’s agent — surprised people when he said that the Premier League side may not be the landing spot for arguably the world’s most-coveted strikers.
“We haven’t decided anything yet. I think it will be a surprise in the end, Raiola said.
“Everyone is just talking about United, United, United — that’s why I don’t speak to anyone anymore because all the journalists are asking the wrong questions.”
While Raiola’s job often entails remaining coy in situations similar to this, the agent did confirm that there are teams in England expressing interest in Ibrahimovic, as well as several European clubs and those outside of Europe.
With Sweden getting set for a run at Euro 2016, Raiola also stressed that there’s no need for the striker to rush any potential deal.
“No, it’s not important to get it done quickly,” he said. “I only care about getting a deal done with quality. I’m not in a hurry. No one is running behind me and chasing me. It’s about doing things at the right time. The only thing we care about is quality. We’ll see what happens.”
It appears that the Ibrahimovic saga will continue on for at least the next month.
