Mamadou Sakho may not face any punishment from UEFA after all.
According to French outlet Le Equipe, Sakho’s 30-day ban hasn’t been extended by UEFA, although there hasn’t been confirmation as to whether the football governing body will pursue further action against the Reds defender.
Sakho was originally banned for a month after reportedly testing positive for a banned substance following Liverpool’s Europa League clash with Manchester United. Reports have claimed the banned substance to be a fat burner.
As part of the suspension, the Frenchman missed the Reds’ recent Europa League final against Sevilla, which Jurgen Klopp‘s side dropped 3-1. Additionally, Sakho wasn’t included in France’s Euro 2016 squad due to the imposed ban.
