The fierce rivals meet in Lens in Group B on June 16, as both kick off their EURO 2016 campaign on Saturday.
That said, Real Madrid’s Bale is fully focused on just one team: England.
Bale, 26, spoke to the media on Friday ahead of Wales’ opener against Slovakia and had this to say about the rivalry with England.
“I think we’ve got a lot more passion and pride about us than them. We’ll definitely show that on the day,” Bale said.
The Welsh wizard wasn’t done there though. Oh no. He continued to have a pop at England.
“They big themselves up before they’ve done anything, so we’re going to go there and we believe we can beat them,” Bale. said. “For me it is probably the stand-out game in the group stages, but there is no pressure on us because they believe they can beat us.
“I had a chuckle when England came out, I’m not going to lie. It’s an amazing game to be involved in and it’s like any derby – you never want to lose to the enemy. Even in the recent [rugby] World Cup when we won – I remember those. England don’t get that, do they?”
So, yeah, should be pretty lively in five days in northern France when Wales and England collide…
