FOLLOW LIVE: USMNT shoots for Copa America semifinals in clash with Ecuador

After finishing top of Group A at the 2016 Copa America Centenario, the U.S. national team opens the knockout stage of this summer’s centennial celebration tournament in the first of four quarterfinals, against Ecuador, Tuesday night in Seattle, Wash. (9:30 p.m. ET)

Jurgen Klinsmann’s side lost to Colombia in the tournament’s curtain-raiser, but responded with a pair of shutout victories over Costa Rica and Paraguay, and with a little help from the former, won Group A. Now, a much more stern test awaits in the form of Ecuador, second-place finishers in Group B, and one of the freest-scoring teams in the tournament thus far.

On the line is a place in the semifinals, where the winner of Thursday’s showdown in Seattle will face the winner of Argentina versus Venezuela (Saturday, 7 p.m. ET), in Houston, Tex. (Tuesday, June 21, 9 p.m. ET)
