New York City FC has reopened the MLS schedule with a bang (or two).

Frank Lampard has scored in his first start of the season, while No. 1 SuperDraft pick Jack Harrison provided a goal for David Villa in thrilling fashion as NYCFC leads Philadelphia 2-0 at halftime.

Harrison was spectacular for a strong Wake Forest program, and his electrifying athleticism and speed was on display. Also clear: His creativity, as he backheeled for Villa to finish.

That was after longtime Chelsea man Frank Lampard worked his way to the goal scoring well to draw up an opener from in-tight.

With Harrison finally healthy and NYC with the advantage of knowing the postage stamp pitch at Yankee Stadium well, we wouldn’t rule out the big money club in the Bronx.
