Ukraine had a few chances to leap out front, but Polish keeper Lukasz Fabianski was on the scene. He was almost caught unaware on a quick near post free kick, but scooted over the collect it.
Poland broke through before the match was an hour old, though, as Blaszczykowski was the beneficiary of a ball from Arkadiusz Milik. Blaszczykowski dragged the ball diagonally before blasting a shot home.
