Hold off on Pogba to Man United, at least for now

A reunion at Manchester United would be a brilliant tale for French midfielder Paul Pogba, however, a move back to Old Trafford doesn’t seem to be in the cards; at least not at the moment.

Despite several recent reports suggesting United has already offered an astounding $130 million to Juventus for the 23-year-old midfielder, BBC Sport is reporting that no such negotiations have taken place.

Pogba and France will take on Portugal during Sunday’s EURO 2016 final, and the midfielder has made it clear that he doesn’t want to deal with any contract terms until after the conclusion of the tournament. The former Red Devils player is currently under contract with Juventus until 2019 despite the recent links elsewhere.

While United has been among the top destinations for the Les Bleus star, it is believed that Pogba’s ideal landing spot is in Spain with Real Madrid, according to Sky Sports.

In addition to Pogba formerly playing in England, though, Man United does have another useful bargaining chip at its disposal. Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, also represents Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, both of whom have already signed with the 20-time Premier League champions this summer.

Wherever Pogba lands up, or if he stays at Juventus, a team is gaining an invaluable asset for the future, and his play this summer has only furthered his reputation as one of the world’s top midfielders.
