According to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen was spotted in the airport with his agent on his way to London, with a move to Tottenham Hotspur imminent.
Janssen, currently with AZ Alkmaar, already has three goals in five caps for the Dutch national team. He led the Eredivisie in goals, scoring a whopping 27 times in 34 league appearances last season for a stellar 102 minutes per goal.
The report states Tottenham is ready to spend $24 million on the 22-year-old striker, and that he will have a medical on Monday. He will apparently be ready to join the squad for their tour of Australia, with their first match set for July 26th against the Melbourne Victory.
De Telegraaf reports that Janssen made it clear he wanted to make the move to White Hart Lane. He apparently rejected offers from Paris Saint-Germain and West Ham due to his desire to play for Spurs, leaving AZ with little negotiating power.
The last time AZ sold a striker to the Premier League, Jozy Altidore made his move to Sunderland after scoring 23 goals in Eredivisie play during the 2012/13 season. Wilfried Bony lead the league in scoring with Vitesse Arnham that season before a move to Swansea City.
