In Forbes’ latest top 50 World Most Valuable Sports Team list, three soccer teams are present in the top 10 in 2016 with Real Madrid in second place, Barcelona in third and Manchester United in fifth.
In total five Premier League teams are included in the list with all five recorded huge rises in value since 2015.
Real have held the top spot for the last three years but have been usurped by the Cowboys despite the Spanish giants seeing their value increase by 12.5 percent. Barcelona climb to third from fourth, while United remain in fifth. The Red Devils previously held the top spot in Forbes’ list in 2011 and 2012 but their value only increased by a modest seven percent from last year.
Out of the top 50 ranked sports teams eight are soccer teams with Bayern Munich ranked 12th, Arsenal in at 23, Manchester City 28th, Chelsea 36th and Liverpool 41st.
Arsenal’s value jumped a huge 54 percent, while City’s value was up 40 percent with Chelsea’s value rising 48 percent and Liverpool’s rising highest with 58 percent.
