Brazil 0-0 South Africa FULL RECAP

After a failed effort at this summer’s Copa America Centenario, albeit without many of the country’s biggest stars, Brazil certainly didn’t secure the result it had hoped for against South Africa. Despite playing a man up for over a half an hour, the Selecao failed to find the back of the net, leaving the hosts level on a point with Group A’s three other sides.

Newly-acquired Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus boasted the game’s best chance in the 69th minute when his struck the post from close range.

Fiji 0-8 South KoreaFULL RECAP

It took over a half hour for South Korea to bag a goal, but from there the Asian side was firmly control against Fiji. With the eight-goal performance, South Korea is sitting pretty atop Group C after Mexico and Germany played to a draw in the group’s other match.

Nigeria 5-4 Japan — FULL RECAP

After only arriving in Brazil on Thursday afternoon, Nigeria took care of business against their Japanese counterparts with a confident performance to open Group B action. Etebo Oghenekaro netted a hat trick in slightly over 40 minutes, and ended the night with four finishes on five shots that hit the target. The African nation can now look ahead to Sweden on Sunday.
