While Arsenal may have one of the more talented teams in the Premier League, Arsene Wenger‘s men could be shorthanded for their opening match against Liverpool next Sunday.

Wenger is reportedly opting to sit several key starters, including Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny against Reds, after each had busy summers with France and Germany, respectively, at EURO 2016.

With the trio all set to sit out the opening match, the Gunners are left with a conundrum both in the attack and defensively as to whom will serve as viable replacements. Without Koscielny, Arsenal is left with Gabriel and Calum Chambers to fill the vacancy, as well as newcomer Rob Holding.

The door is also left wide open for Theo Walcott and Chuba Akpom to get a starting nod with both Giroud and Ozil sidelined.

Meanwhile, Arsenal does have some good news though regarding its starting team. After suffering a patella injury during preseason, midfielder Jack Wilshere is expected to be ready to begin the new PL campaign next Sunday at the Emirates.
