Arsene Wenger and the Gunners begin their season with quite the challenge, as the Arsenal boss enters the final season on his contract.
Not only do they host Liverpool at the Emirates live at 11:00am E.T. on NBCSN or live online at NBCSports.com, but they face a number of squad constraints that have forced Wenger to get creative with his teamsheet.

With the defensive crisis the club currently faces, 20-year-old Rob Holding makes his Premier League debut alongside Callum Chambers. New signing Granit Xhaka is on the bench with Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin favored in the deep midfield. With Olivier Giroud not yet fit after a deep Euro 2016 run, Alexis Sanchez starts at the striker position and Alex Iwobi features after a solid preseason.
Adding to the misses are Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck, as the latter struggles with a knee injury.
For Liverpool, there are a number of absentees as well. Daniel Sturridge continues to struggle with injuries and misses out, as does James Milner. Saido Mane gets his debut with the Reds, and Roberto Firmino starts at striker, a position Jurgen Klopp openly admitted last season that the young Brazilian needs to work on.
The Reds have only won once in their last 20 matches away at Arsenal across all competitions, with that victory coming in August 2011.
