A pair of places in the men’s soccer gold-medal game are on the line at the 2016 Rio Olympics on Wednesday.

Brazil, going for their first-ever Olympic gold medal in soccer (men’s or women’s), will face Honduras (12 p.m. ET — Watch live, on NBCSN and online via NBCOlympics.com) at the Maracana in a rematch of the two sides’ 2012 Olympic quarterfinal clash at St. James’ Park in Newcastle. Brazil knocked the Central Americans from the tournament four years ago on the back of a Leandro Damiao brace and a penalty kick converted by Neymar.
The latter bagged his first goal of the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil’s quarterfinal victory over Colombia on Saturday. The Brazilian women were defeated by Sweden in their semifinal bout on Tuesday. The Honduran men took down South Korea in the quarters, with thanks to Alberth Elis’s game-winning goal.

The other world power still kicking about at the 2016 Olympics, Germany, will take on Nigeria (3 p.m. ET — Watch live, on NBCSN and online via NBCOlympics.com) in the second semifinal in Sao Paulo. The Germans are led by Arsenal’s Serge Gnarby and Freiburg’s Nils Petersen, who top the Olympic scoring charts with six and five goals, respectively, through four games. Germany scored 15 times during the group stage, but finishes second with just one win and two draws (2-2 with Mexico; 3-3 with South Korea).
