Burnley beat Liverpool 2-0 at Turf Moor on Saturday as the Clarets recorded a huge win, their first home league victory over Liverpool since 1973.
Sam Vokes scored his first-ever Premier League goal with a belter in the second minute and Andre Gray also grabbed his first strike in the top–flight as Burnley weathered the Liverpool storm and scored with their only two shots on target in the first half.
A historic win for Burnley as the newly-promoted side have their first points of the new season, while Jurgen Klopp will be shaking his head in disbelief as to how his side lost.

Liverpool were caught cold inside the first two minutes as Nathaniel Clyne was at fault with his ball to Adam Lallana intercepted by Gray and Vokes took full advantage as he turned smartly and hammered home to put Burnley ahead. 1-0.
Moments later it looked like it could’ve been 2-0 as Gray raced away but Dejan Lovren made a superb challenge as Liverpool got off to a shaky start.

Liverpool had a few chances of their own as Philippe Coutinho and Lallana had efforts from the edge of the box which either missed the target or were blocked but Burnley were fairly comfortable.
Soon, they doubled their lead. New signing Steven Defour drove forward and beat three challenges as he slotted in Gray who cut inside and sent a fine finish into the bottom corner with his left foot. 2-0 to Burnley. The shock was on.

In the first half Liverpool had 78 percent of possession and had 13 attempts but Burnley scored with both of their shots on goal.

It was all Liverpool in the second half but the Reds just couldn’t find a way through Heaton and his resolute Burnley defense as Turf Moor erupted at the final whistle to celebrate a historic win.
