Chilean attacker Alexis Sanchez thinks he’s on the same level as former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi and current Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sanchez, 27, is no doubt an electric playmaker, having scored 63 goals in his last three seasons and added quite a few helpful passes along the way.

And while it’s true that his skill level is elite, we don’t exactly endorse his publicly claiming to be Ballon d’Or caliber.
“I have reached a level where I can compete with great players. I do not feel inferior to anybody. I compare [my qualities] to Messi and Cristiano. I have the same abilities as them,” the former Barcelona player said.
Sanchez made the Ballon d’Or shortlist last season after leading Chile to the Copa America, but the other two have combined to win the last eight.
Anyway, it’s just a quote, and athletes are a confident branch of our species. But Alexis is incorrect. If he wants to go about proving us wrong, we’d be thrilled to enjoy the ensuing performances.
