Well apparently Donovan, 34, could be heading back to play for the LA Galaxy after retiring at the age of 32 in December 2014.
Kevin Baxter of the LA Times sent out the following message about Donovan’s possible return to Major League Soccer, following initial reports from Blake Thomsen and it is now believed Donovan is in serious talks about coming out of retirement to continue his legendary career.
Multiple reports claim Donovan is close to returning to LA for the remainder of the 2016 season as Bruce Arena’s side try to push for another MLS Cup win with Steven Gerrard, Robbie Keane and Giovani dos Santos already on board.
He could return as soon as this Sunday against Orlando City at StubHub Center to help with the Galaxy’s playoff push as they enter their final six games of the regular season.
Donovan is, of course, the all-time leading goalscorer in Major League Soccer and for the U.S. national team and ended his glittering career with six MLS Cups to his name.

He also recently became a minority owner in Swansea City in the Premier League, something he talked to us about last month. He is also rumored to be involved in trying to bring an MLS franchise to San Diego.
This would simply be one of the greatest comeback stories in MLS history. Ever.
