Ahead of Saturday’s Manchester derby, the Portuguese manager stated that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will likely be included in the squad that faces Manchester City. Additionally, Mourinho declared starting left back Luke Shaw to be fit for the encounter.

While it’s highly unlikely that Mkhitaryan plays a full match against the Citizens, the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder appears to be over the thigh injury that came after spending time on international duty with Armenia.

“He [Mkhitaryan] is available. I’m not saying he’s ready to play 90 minutes but he’s ready to try to help us.

“There are no injuries and everybody has returned safely and on time for at least one training session. Everybody is ready and wants to play, of course.”

United comes into the match without any notable injuries, while City will be missing key striker Sergio Aguero — who will sit out due to a suspension. Meanwhile, defenders Vincent Kompany and Bacary Sagna remain sidelined as they look to recover their fitness.

The 27-year-old has made three substitute appearances this season for United, creating four shots and two on target in that span.
