Notable injuries, including Emre Can and Ragnar Klavan will prove costly for Liverpool, however, Klopp could have new goalkeeper Loris Karius at his disposal against the Foxes after joining the club over the summer.

Meanwhile, Leicester seeks another win to get the club back on track after picking up points against Arsenal and Swansea. Claudio Ranieri will have new record signing Islam Slimani available on the road, giving the Foxes yet another attacking threat.

What they’re saying

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: “This is a good place, with the champions coming. It was really well deserved what they [Leicester] did last season. They’re still good, but it’s now another season. It’s our first home game and with 8,000 more in the stadium – that’s more power and we should use this.”

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri: “We are a very strong team. We didn’t win the title because we are lucky. We won because we were better than the others. We must be confident.”

Prediction

The Reds have looked suspect at the back this season, including the club’s lone win against Arsenal, making it tough to imagine they’ll be able to handle Leicester’s attack for 90 minutes. Expect entertaining stuff from both sides, although there likely won’t be anything separating the two when the ref blows the final whistle. Liverpool 2-2 Leicester
