Stoke City 0-4 Tottenham: Spurs batter sorry Potters

Tottenham Hotspur battered Stoke City 4-0 at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday, as two goals from Heung-Min Son and a goal each for Dele Alli, Harry Kane did the damage.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s Spurs remain unbeaten in the Premier League through the opening four games of the season with eight points, while Stoke are without a win and have just one point as Mark Hughes will be left fuming with this defensive display.

Stoke started the brighter of the two sides as Marko Arnautovic had the ball in the net but was clearly offside. Glenn Whelan had a decent effort from range and the Potters did all the pressing but as the first half wore Spurs grew into the game.

Son then gave Spurs the lead just before the break as Eriksen raced free down the right and picked out the South Korean who volleyed home. 1-0.

In the second half Son curled home another after getting the ball from Eriksen and cutting inside. 2-0.

Two minutes later it was 3-0 to Tottenham as Alli was found by Walker and he slotted home to put the result beyond any doubt.

Kane then added a fourth with 20 minutes to go as Son’s low cross found him in the box and Spurs threatened to score more after that with Stoke’s defense in pieces.

Late on Stoke tried to nick a consolation but Pochettino’s side eased to victory and they remain unbeaten in the Premier League ahead of their UEFA Champions League opener against Monaco on Wednesday.
