The game in 100 words (or less): Landon Donovan’s late introduction in the match will probably steal most headlines but it was Giovani dos Santos’ two goals and two assists that gave the Galaxy an important win at StubHub Center on Sunday. With Robbie Keane not only coming back into the fold but also adding a finish, Bruce Arena’s group bounced back after a rough start to wallop Orlando City. The win gives the Galaxy 44 points on the season, putting the five-time MLS Cup champions in fourth place in the West. Meanwhile, Orlando City holds onto the sixth and final playoff spot in the East.
Three four five moments that mattered
20′ – Molino puts Orlando out in front — Cyle Larin makes the Orlando attack go, but Kevin Molino has surely asserted himself in the lineup as well.
35′ — Galaxy execute counter to perfection — It was a tidy finish from Giovani dos Santos but the beautiful pass from Emmanuel Boateng set up an easy opener for the Galaxy.
38′ — Gordon notches 50th career MLS goal — Bad defending was on display from Orlando throughout the the latter portion of the first half and Alan Gordon capitalized in a big way for the Galaxy.
45′ — Dos Santos smashes home from penalty spot — Orlando City self-destructed in the final 10 minutes, and the Mexican attacker capped off the half with his second finish.
70′ — Welcome back, Robbie Keane — The Galaxy attack may be the most dangerous in MLS, and Robbie Keane wants you to remember that.
