MADRID (AP) The Court of Arbitration for Sport is allowing Real Madrid’s youngsters to keep playing pending the club’s appeal to FIFA’s transfer ban.
CAS said on Friday it granted Madrid “90 days to regularize the situation of the minors” who were deemed unfit to play because of the club’s alleged breach of FIFA’s transfer rules regarding underage players.
Real Madrid general director Jose Angel Sanchez told Spanish media that two sons of former player and current coach Zinedine Zidane were among the minors whose signings were investigated by FIFA.
The club did not confirm on Friday whether they were among the youngsters allowed to play again.
The one-year transfer ban handed to Madrid and Atletico Madrid remains in place. CAS said Madrid will file its appeal “within the next days.”
