Emre Can is the sort of player who can help Liverpool in each third of the field, and the Reds were pleased to see him back in a match Tuesday after a month’s absence.

Can suffered an ankle injury in a EFL Cup win over Burton Albion, and picked up 33 minutes in a 3-0 win over Derby County on Tuesday.

Manager Jurgen Klopp says Can is fit and willing, but needs to rediscover his chemistry with the Anfield set.

“You cannot go into a shop and buy rhythm. You need to work for it and that’s what we are doing. I’m not rushing it.

“Emre is cool enough and experienced enough. We can use him, that’s good. He is back, that’s very good. But, of course, I don’t know who will play at the weekend and what will happen [before] the weekend.

Liverpool has Hull City and Swansea before a highly-anticipated clash with Manchester United at Anfield on Oct. 17. There’s an international break in there, too, so we expect to see Can with regularity by the time the rivalry rolls around.
