While NYCFC is still seeking resolution for a stadium inside the city limits, this is another promising development for the blue side of New York.
NYC head coach Patrick Vieira has overseen a critical on-field revolution for the club, and says the players will be buoyed by the news.
“It’s really exciting,” Vieira declared. “I strongly believe that as a young football club it’s extremely important to have our home facility where players can feel really comfortable.
“It will have a massive impact on our everyday basics, the way we’re going to train, to live, to build our team spirit.”
City is level with regional rivals New York Red Bulls for the most points in the Eastern Conference with two matches to play before the playoffs. This after an eighth-place finish in its debut MLS season.
