Ronald Koeman called Maarten Stekelenburg‘s performance against Manchester City “the game of his life”.

The keeper is just hoping it earns him a free meal.

Everton’s Dutch goalkeeper stopped two penalty kicks and made a number of fine saves as the Toffees earned a point at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

English defender Phil Jagielka conceded both of those penalty attempts, and Stekelenburg did not deny that he’s owed something for the saves.

“When you go 1-0 up you hope you can get the three points but I think you have to thankful for a point. It’s not only guesswork for the penalties, you do the analysis as well. Will Phil Jagielka buy me dinner after that? I will ask him”

You’re getting dinner my man. Maybe two.
