Unbeaten in over a month, Southampton’s depth will be tested as they host Burnely at St. Mary’s live at 11:00am E.T.
With Watford’s win earlier on Sunday, the Saints could go back in front of them and into the top half of the table with a home win.
They’ll have to do so without both full-backs Ryan Bertrand and Cedric Soares, forcing Matt Targett and Cuco Martina into action. The 21-year-old Targett started the first three matches of the season at right-back with Bertrand recovering from a knee injury, and now a hamstring problem for the England international brings him back. Martina has not started yet this year, but played the majority of the match after Soares went down early. Southampton is protecting a six-match streak across all competitions with a clean sheet.

Meanwhile, up front for Southampton, Charlie Austin starts with Shane Long on the bench. The former has two goals in his last three Premier League appearances, but started as the club was blanked against Leicester City before the international break. Long continues to struggle, without a goal yet this year, although he makes the bench surprisingly after recovering from a hamstring problem.
For Burnley, goalkeeper Tom Heaton was forced to withdraw from the England squad with an injury, but he’s ready to go and starts. Andre Gray remains out, three matches in to his four-match ban. The Clarets lost two of three before the international break, failing to score in both, but did put two past Watford sandwiched between those two blanks.
