Jose Mourinho has been sent to the stands by referee Mark Clattenberg for the second half of Manchester United’s match versus Burnley.

The Old Trafford side was dominant in the first half but couldn’t find a goal, and a penalty kick looked likely when John Flanagan flailed at a driving Matteo Darmian on the edge of the 18.

The replay showed that Clattenberg had it right, as Darmian dove to the turf.

We’re speculating, of course, but Mourinho’s spot in the stands for the second half may have been reserved by his protests to Clattenberg.

The audacious coach then took a seat in the front row, and the BBC said he was closer to the pitch than the manager’s seat. So the officials moved him back a few rows.

Either way, that’s where Mou sits. United and Burnley remain scoreless. Unfortunately for the Clarets, they appear to need a United player sent off to be a part of the proceedings.
