Is Gareth Southgate looking to make an MLS raid to bolster his coaching staff?

England’s interim boss is said to be hoping to add Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard to his coaching staff this winter, with the FA approving the “fast-tracking” of their coaching badges.

You’d think 220 combined caps qualifies them for some immediate, class-free badges, but we digress.

Gerrard and Lampard have both been good when healthy for LA Galaxy and New York City FC, respectively, and Lampard has been especially lethal this season.

From The Sun:

Until now, the FA has not offered high-profile pros a quicker route to achieve their coaching qualifications, which can take up to four years.

But they are willing to break that rule in return for Gerrard, 36, and 38- year-old Lamps mentoring England’s young stars.

The Sun says Lampard has already accepted the invitation, and that Gerrard is mulling it over.
