According to an ESPN FC report, Steven Gerrard wants to continue his playing career despite not having a clear picture of what comes next.

The report states that it’s not sure where he hopes to end up, saying that he could stay in the United States, or he could look elsewhere. All that is likely is for Gerrard to return to England to ponder his future.

Gerrard did not speak with media following LA’s exit from the MLS playoffs, leaving plenty of uncertainty over his next move.

The 36-year-old has said previously he can’t see himself playing for another Premier League club other than Liverpool, and with the Reds atop the table, it’s unlikely that Jurgen Klopp will have any interest in signing Gerrard to play.

It’s possible Gerrard could return to the Galaxy, or cash in again with a team in a league like the Chinese Super League, although the Chinese league season just concluded at the end of October.

Galaxy teammate and fellow England international Ashley Cole apologized to Gerrard after the loss to FC Dallas, and stated even he doesn’t know what’s next for Gerrard. “I don’t know what’s going to happen but it’s been a pleasure to play alongside you for club and country — a true gent.”
