Could Steven Gerrard reunite with Brendan Rodgers north of the English border?

The current LA Galaxy and longtime Liverpool midfielder is still wanted in California, but a Daily Record report says the 36-year-old Gerrard could find his way to Scottish powers Celtic.

The Bhoys are in their first season under ex-Reds boss Rodgers and have a 10-point lead on the Scottish Premiership field despite playing the least amount of matches in the league.

Ex-Celtic player Andy Lynch, who it must be said was promoting a book and headlines aid that quite a bit, says Gerrard claims to be a big Celtic supporter and that it’s “probable” he’d come to Celtic Park.

From The Scottish Daily Record:

“I was surprised how passionate he was so it’s not so outrageous to think he’d choose to come here. Especially now Brendan is there and perhaps with a coaching role added as a sweetener, I don’t think it’s an impossible dream for Celtic fans.”

Gerrard reportedly wants to keep playing once his Galaxy contract expires, and it’s certainly not unreasonable to think he’d like to add another storied European club to his resume. Like Perry Kitchen at Hearts, Gerrard would give us another measuring stick for the difference between Major League Soccer and Scotland.
