Teammates for the French national team, but sworn enemies ahead of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid’s showdown at the Vicente Calderon Stadium on Saturday, Antoine Griezmann and Karim Benzema find themselves in a race against time to be fit for the capital clash, each star attacker’s manager sounding increasingly hopeful on Friday — quotes from the AP:

Diego Simeone, on Griezmann: “He trained normally yesterday. He is trying very hard to be ready for the match. I hope he trains well in the last practice session and can make our squad.

Zinedine Zidane, on Benzema: “He is better, and if he is on the squad then he can play.”
