Real Madrid is unbeaten in Spain, boasting a 9W-3D record and a 4-point lead over Barcelona ahead of a looming El Clasico on Dec. 3 at the Nou Camp.
In terms of the UEFA Champions League, Real would have to reach the quarterfinals to see Bale back on the pitch.
Bale could also miss Wales’ next World Cup qualifier, a critical visit to the Republic of Ireland on March 24. Wales is four points back of the first place Irish, and two points behind second place Serbia.
Then again, Bale does seem like the sort of alien who could show up in January, say, “No big deal”, and dominate a pitch.
