Absolutely nothing went right for Juventus during the 90 minutes they spent on the field against Genoa on Sunday, falling behind 3-0 after 30 minutes and losing 3-1 on the day.

The minutes and hours immediately thereafter haven’t been any better for Massimiliano Allegri’s side, as it was confirmed that Dani Alves suffered a broken leg with a little more than 10 minutes remaining and all three substitutions having already been made. A club statement released on Sunday said Alves “fractured the fibula bone in his left leg.” A timetable for Alves’s return is not yet known.
Juve’s lead in Serie A is down to four points after Sunday’s defeat, while their place in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League has already been confirmed with one game still to play. Home to Dinamo Zagreb in the group-stage finale, a win would secure top spot and seeded status in the draw for the round of 16.
